Mom mentioned that “my friend from San Clemente” went by to visit her.  From her description, I’m assuming it was you.  If that’s the case, I wanted you to know how much she enjoyed your visit and looks forward to seeing you again.  She said that you’re very pleasant to talk to, even though she would often not be able to hear everything you said.

I also want to give you an update on how pleased both mom and I are with Autumn Meadows.  She is getting excellent care, attention and food.  She is very happy there, so naturally I’m delighted and relieved.  I’m very pleased with her living situation.  

Maybe one of these days mom will remember you, as you’ve certainly visited her often and in 4 different places between her home, the hospital, Capo Beach and Autumn Meadows.  Her dementia is progressing and she often drifts in and out of reality.  The main thing is she is happy and comfortable.

After my last trip I realized I could not postpone my knee replacement surgery until January as I’d hoped.  In fact I had the surgery 11 days ago and have been recovering better than I ever expected.  It’s disappointing not to be able to spend the holidays with mom and my sister, but I hope to return early next year.

Thanks again for all your hard work helping me find a place and on such short notice. I was so impressed with all the teamwork, efficiency and quick turnaround.
